Dr. Jeff Thavaseelan
Urologist
Dr Jeff Thavaseelan is a consultant urologist and one of the founding Directors of Perth Urology Clinic. A VMO at SJOG Murdoch since 2002, Jeff holds the positions of Chair of the Medical Advisory Council and Head of the Urology Department. He also serves on the hospital’s Clinical Review Committee.Jeff has served as the Chair of the WA Urological Research Organisation since 2017. He has previously served on the national Board of Directors of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) and was Chair of the WA section from 2013 – 2021.In 2021, he became a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.A local medical graduate who completed his urological training in WA, Jeff undertook his subspeciality training in the UK, Germany and USA. His primary interests are in functional urology, with a particular focus on neuro-urology, urodynamics, and male prosthetic surgery for male urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. He has published several articles and book chapters, been an advisory board member and a speaker both nationally and internationally.Jeff is married with four children. He is an avid soccer supporter and was a coach at the local club for over 15 years. He enjoys cooking, travel and spending time with his family.

Dr. Trent Barrett
Urologist
Trenton Barrett is a urologist with subspecialty interest in female urology, andrology and male infertility. In 2012 he was the second West Australian trainee ever to be awarded the prestigious Keith Kirkland travelling fellowship by the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. Trenton completed a fellowship in Adelaide followed by a further subspecialty fellowship in female urology and andrology in the UK through the Leicester General Hospital. Dr Barrett has completed an observership with the female reconstructive unit at University College Hospital London and undergone training in male infertility microsurgery at Cornell in New York City and trained in robotic microsurgical techniques in Florida.Trent works in private practice at Hollywood Private Hospital, SJOG Mt Lawley and Glengarry. Trenton has a public appointment at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women and works closely with the department at Fiona Stanley Hospital to help with complex prosthetic urology and reconstructive cases.Outside of work, Trenton keeps busy with his young family and a growing vintage toy and hi-fi collection.

Dr. Shane La Bianca
Urologist
Dr La Bianca is a University of Western Australia graduate and achieved his FRACS (Urology) in 1999, completing his advanced surgical fellowship training in Vancouver, Canada, at the VGH-UBC Prostate Centre in Advanced Uro-Oncology. He is involved in undergraduate teaching at the University of Notre Dame, and Curtin University Medical Schools and his clinical focus is in all aspects of Bladder Cancer management, Cystectomy, Bladder Reconstruction; Peyronie’s Disease, Penile Implant Surgery and Advanced Prostate Cancer; Cutting-edge Medical Technology. Outside of work, he is an avid reader and technophile, member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, enjoys spending time with his family, listening to his extensive vinyl collection, skiing, cycling, travel, slow food and good wine.

Dr. Andrew Tan
Urologist
Andrew is originally from New Zealand, and graduated in Medicine from the University of Otago in 1994. After completing Urological training in 2002, he was awarded a travelling scholarship by the Endourology Society and undertook a Fellowship in Laparoscopy and Endourology at University of Western Ontario in Canada. He moved to Western Australia in 2004. His main interest is in Uro-Oncology, particularly kidney and prostate cancer, laparoscopic and robotic surgery and minimally invasive treatment of prostate enlargement with holmium laser surgery. Andrew has taught internationally on laparoscopy and laser surgery and has published several research papers and book chapters. His main private practice is at Hollywood Hospital and he is a visiting Specialist to Geraldton. He is a training supervisor in Urology and holds a Consultant post in Urology and Kidney Transplant at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Andrew is a co-host of the Tackle Talk Men’s Health podcast.Outside work, Andrew spends his spare time with his family, and enjoys cooking, cycling, traveling and reading about history.

Dr. Matt Brown
Urologist
Matt assists patients with all manner of Urological problems but has subspecialty interests in robotic surgery and prostate cancer. Matt is a graduate of the University of Western Australia (UWA), where he completed his medical degree and a PhD in Surgery. As well as his training in Urology, Matt has undertaken an internationally competitive fellowship in robotics and worked as a consultant Urologist/Robotic Surgeon at the world-famous Guy’s Hospital in London. Alongside his position with us at Perth Urology Clinic, Matt is a clinical adjunct Associate Professor at UWA, he has a substantive position with Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH), and is the Head of Robotic Surgery for Fiona Stanley/Fremantle Hospital Group. In addition to looking after his own patients, Matt has a passion for teaching, and is engaged internationally for his expertise. When at home, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and trying to stay upright on his paddleboard!

Dr. Manmeet Saluja
UROLOGIST
Originally born in India, Manmeet (Manny) completed his undergraduate medical training at Otago University, New Zealand. He completed his FRACS urology training in New Zealand, Victoria and Queensland. He undertook additional fellowship training in endourology and oncology at Auckland Hospital, followed by robotic surgery at Greenslopes Hospital in Brisbane. His sub-specialty interests are endourology and oncology. He offers a variety of stone procedures and is proactive about stone prevention. He also performs a range of minimally invasive BPH surgeries.Manmeet is passionate about patient care and enjoys spending time with each patient. As a keen academic, he is regularly involved in training medical students and urological trainees. He is widely published and has won several awards and scholarships for academia and research. He is enthusiastic about third world medicine and is involved in overseas aid projects and health camps.In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his loving wife, daughter and his son. He is a keen traveller and has explored several countries and cultures.

Dr. Alarick Picardo
UROLOGIST
Dr Alarick Picardo is a consultant urologist with subspeciality interests in robotics and urological cancers. He grew up in Perth and studied medicine at the University of Western Australia, graduating with honours in 2010. After working at all major hospitals in Western Australia he achieved his FRACS in Urology and moved to Sydney to undertake further subspecialty training in robotics and major uro-oncology. He then relocated to the United Kingdom where he completed dual accredited fellowships (Royal College Of Surgeons England [RCS(Eng)], and European Association of Urology, Robotic Surgeons [ERUS]) at St George’s Hospital, London. There he trained under some pioneers of robotic surgery in the UK to learn all aspects of robotic urology and minimally invasive surgery.Dr Picardo has since returned to Perth to settle down with his family, and holds consultant positions at Perth Urology Clinic and Fiona Stanley Hospital. He is involved in teaching and research and is passionate about being at the forefront of advances in technology with urological surgery.Outside of work he loves spending time with his wife, travelling and trying different cuisines.

Dr Steve McCombie
UROLOGIST
Steve McCombie is a urologist with subspecialty interests in robotics, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, and kidney cancer. He grew up in Hong Kong before moving to the UK to complete his Medical Degree at the University of Southampton in 2008. He moved to Western Australia in 2012, where he completed his FRACS in Urology before completing further subspecialty training in uro-oncology and robotics in New South Wales, and subsequently on a Fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Steve is passionate about research, an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP), and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. He holds Consultant positions at Perth Urology Clinic and Fiona Stanley Hospital and is a visiting Specialist to Geraldton.Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, exercise, travel, and watching soccer.

Bu Yeap
Endocrinologist
Bu Yeap (MBBS, FRACP, PhD) is Professor, Medical School, University of Western Australia and consultant endocrinologist, Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes, Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, Western Australia. He has longstanding interests in the area of androgens and health during male ageing, and the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic diseases. He leads the Androgens In Men Study, an international collaboration of cohort studies examining testosterone and men’s health outcomes, and has conducted investigator-initiated clinical trials to prevent type 2 diabetes and improve fitness and body composition in men. Bu was President of the Endocrine Society of Australia in 2020-22. He was the South Metro Health Service Researcher of the Year in 2021, and was Claude D. Pepper Visiting Professor, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in 2023. He has >300 publications including >250 original research articles, with 11,000 citations (Scopus).

Geordie Thompson
Clinical Hypnotherapist
Geordie is a Clinical Hypnotherapist with a focus on helping clients resolved persisting symptoms such as overactive bladder and bladder urgency, IBS and chronic pain conditions including bladder and pelvic pain. Working with both male and female clients Geordie helps them develop an understanding of the mind body connection and how emotions can influence the perception of sensations in their bodies. Hypnotherapy helps clients move from cognitive processing to more limbic processing, in effect moving from asking “why this is happening?” to “how is my body doing this?” and “how can I change the signals?” Hypnotherapy has been used for pain management for many years and is a safe and empowering therapy that works well as a complimentary approach to the traditional bio-medical interventions. In his practice Geordie utilises several therapeutic modalities including, Gut directed hypnotherapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy and Neuro linguistic programming in order to help clients progress towards their goals. In this short session, Geordie will expand some of the approached used in clinical hypnotherapy and present a case study on bladder urgency.

Dr Eve Tiong
Radiation Oncologist
Dr Eve Tiong is a radiation oncologist and the current clinical state lead at Icon Cancer Centre Midland and Icon Cancer Centre Rockingham. She completed her fellowship in Princess Margaret Hospital Toronto specialising in the management of genitourinary cancers in 2016, and moved to WA in 2018 and has been working in ICON Western Australia and 5D clinic (Cyberknife).

Melissa Hadley Barrett
Urology Nurse Practitioner & Sexologist
Melissa Hadley Barrett is an internationally recognised clinician, researcher, and advocate specialising in men’s sexual health. As Founder and Director of Restorative Health Clinic (est. 2016), she brings decades of experience as one of Australia’s leading Nurse Practitioners and is the country's only NP with dual qualifications in Sexology.Melissa serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Sexual Medicine, contributes to Movember’s Clinical Guidelines for Sexual Health in Prostate Cancer Survivors, and publishes research in respected international journals. In 2024, she presented a TEDx talk highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to men's sexual health and overall well-being.

Dr Nat Lenzo
Nuclear Medicine Physician
In 2015, Dr Lenzo founded Theranostics Australia, the nation’s first private theranostics practice, where he worked as a group clinical director and expanded the field of nuclear oncology globally. He has held notable positions including Head of Nuclear Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital, Head of the Western Australia PET Cyclotron Service at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Head of General Medicine at Fremantle Hospital. He is also the Founding Director of Cyclowest, a start-up company with a strong focus on patient care and cutting-edge innovative molecular imaging research to help bring the latest diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals to Perth and the Asia-Pacific region.Alongside his practice at Icon, Dr Lenzo is an adjunct Clinical Professor in Medicine at Curtin University and Notre Dame University Australia and consultant physician at St John of God Hospital Murdoch. He is a Board Member at radiopharmaceutical company, Glytherix, and holds advisory Roles with Telix Pharmaceuticals, Novartis Australia, 3BP, ANSTO and the University of Queensland Centre for Advanced Imaging.

Prof Tee Lim
Radiation Oncologist
Tee completed his undergraduate medical degree at Monash University in Melbourne. He moved to Western Australia to continue medical and then specialist training in radiation oncology, and became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 2005. After completing a clinical fellowship at Perth Radiation Oncology, Tee went on to complete a further clinical research fellowship in genitourinary oncology, and specific treatment techniques at Sunnybrook's Odette Cancer Centre (Toronto, Canada), the University of California, San Francisco Medical Centre, and the Seattle Prostate Institute.

Dr Sanjay Mukhedkar
Oncologist
Dr Sanjay Mukhedkar is a medical oncologist who treats patients at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.Dr Mukhedkar was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. He graduated from Osmania Medical College, and achieved his post-graduate in General Surgery.Together with his wife, Dr Mukhedkar migrated to New Zealand in 1995. He then relocated to Manhattan, New York, where he completed an MD in Internal Medicine in Columbia University, NY. He started medical oncology training in Waikato, New Zealand, and then completed this at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth.Dr Mukhedkar has a special interest in the treatment of lung cancer and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.

Dr Basil Sclanders
Radiologist
Basil graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 2002. He completed his radiology training at the University of Witwatersrand in 2009 obtaining Fellowship of the College of Diagnostic Radiology, South Africa that same year. In 2010, he worked as a consultant radiologist at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London, a lead centre for hepatobiliary imaging and neuroendocrine tumours. In 2011, he commenced fellowship training in oncology imaging including MRI and CT at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. This included being part of a seminal study of MRI in rectal cancer (Mercury II) and he obtained Fellowship of the College of Radiology (UK) that same year. He relocated to Western Australia and joined Perth Radiological Clinic in 2013, obtaining his FRANZCR in 2014. He was made partner in 2016.

Christy Mustac
Director of Medical Services - Hollywood Private Hospital
I was appointed Director of Medical Services in September 2024 after three years in the Deputy Director of Medical Services role. I am a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and am currently completing a Master of Business Administration. Prior to studying postgraduate medicine I worked as a commercial lawyer, which enables me to bring a unique skillset to the role. I feel very privileged to be able to contribute to providing excellent patient care together with the wonderful team at Hollywood Private Hospital.
